eBay Synthetic Makeup Brush Set

Hello lovers, I know I’ve been Mia but for good reason I promise lol. I will explain soon.

Anyway, I found this set online while browsing eBay one day looking for a new camera light. I was just looking up makeup brushes on some different sites but didn’t want to shell out another load of cash on new ones so I looked on eBay and wanted to see what I found. Once I got past all the MAC fakes and cheap thin brands I found these.

I watched a few YouTube reviews on different brush sets off eBay and saw that some were dupes for Sigma and one of my personal favorite brands Real Techniques brushes.

I came across this set and loved the way they looked. They look almost exactly like sigma brushes. They had 3 different looks to choose from white and silver, black and silver and the set I choose black and gold. I’m a sucker for a bargain and when I saw they were only $15.88 with free shipping for a set of 8 (4 face and 4 eye brushes) I thought hmm why not try them out. If they suck no large amount lost and if they are great I found a new makeup brush source lol.

So I bought them and the shipping was pretty quick since they were coming from China. I ordered on the 5th and got them on the 16th of the month. So just shy of 2 weeks. Not bad China lol.

Packaging:

The packaging was great. Nice and snug so nothing could break or get damaged. Each brush was in its own wrapping and then all of them were in another package. Then covered with foam sheets and placed in bubble wrapped packaging.

Quality:

Right out of the package they were shiny and nice. The brushes were so soft on my skin both my face and hands. They are light and not heavy so they don’t weigh your hands down. No initial shedding. I spot cleaned them to prep them for use and 4 individual strands out of 8 brushes came out. So no heavy shedding or anything crazy like that.

Use:

After using them and doing an entire full face of makeup. There was no shedding, the bristles were soft and my makeup application was smooth. Everything was buffed and blended in well and my face had an airbrushed finish.

All in all I give these brushes 2 thumbs up. Great quality and a great price. They look great in your brush kit both for personal and professional use. So if your looking for a bargain on a great set of brushes. Check these out. I hope your having a great week.

Review: E.L.F. Jumbo Eye Pencils

20130707-125447.jpg

Hi all,

So I have another review for you, well sort of review/first impression and this time it’s for the E.L.F Jumbo eye pencils. I’m going to assume that these are suppose to be like the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils only these are retractable and they are a bit fatter than the NYX pencils.

Now pigmentation is good. Some are better than others. They glide on smooth. The ones I picked up were a dark blue color called Like A Boss and a black color called Midnight Rendezvous.

Target was having a sale and these are originally $2 but I picked them up for $1.40 each.

The color payoff of the pencils is pretty nice. The only thing I would say is the black has sparkles in it and I’m not a sparkle fan like that, I was looking for more of a plain black but oh well I guess I can use it as a base. The blue has no sparkle which I like.

They don’t really have staying power, like I put them on and let them sit and wiped my finger across them and they come off extremely easy so I would suggest setting it with possibly an eye primer and then a powder shadow on top of it. I’m going to try it out that way and see how that works and then do a full review but this is just kind of a first impression sort of thing lol. All in all for the price they seem pretty nice and should work well especially for beginners.

Have any of you tried these out? How do you like them? Until next time :0)

Review: Zote Soap Brush Cleaning

20130703-210954.jpg

Happy 4th doll! :0)

So I’ve been hearing about this Zote soap for awhile now and just never tried it. I usually wash my makeup brushes with either baby shampoo or a designated makeup brush cleaner. But I was out of those so I decided to give this soap a try. Oh boy was I surprised. :0)

It’s a large pink bar of soap and it’s used for a little bit of everything actually. Laundry soap, brush cleaner, etc.

20130703-211133.jpg

You only need a small piece to clean your brushes. What I do is take the soap in one hand and wet my brush, then just run the brush in my hand across the soap until it’s soaps up and then rinse and repeat until the brush is clean.

The different in the brush and how quickly the soap cleans them is amazing. Out of everything I have used this is by far the best. The makeup just comes running out of the brush and is clean in minutes depending on how dirty the brush is and what product you used with it.

Over all I can say I will definitely be using this soap for my brushes from now on. It works amazing and my brushes come out clean and soft.
